Large flotilla of ducks waddling down to the water from thatched houses on the banks and women neck deep in water searching for fish with their feet are some of the common sights. Glide along the calm and serene backwater flanked by swaying coconut palms and see a rural Kerala preserved through the ages. The only sound heard would be the splash of the bamboo oar on water as the boat glides through the smooth green backwaters of this beautiful land.

Apart from organizing pleasure cruises in the backwaters of Kerala, we also present a unique facility of houseboat rentals. This gives the most sought after privacy for Honeymooner’s and families. One could decide the port of calls and destination of the rented boat, for which an operator and a chef would be appointed exclusively for the trip, on their own.   

Trekking

The Western Ghats mountain ranges dominate the eastern border of Kerala. For centuries, these thickly forested and imposing mountains acted as a natural barrier for this narrow stretch of land. It is therefore natural that these mountain ranges have some of the most spectacular trekking routes for those in search of pure adventure. The evergreen, deciduous and thorny scrub forests along these mountains are indeed some of the most magnificent and varied found anywhere in the world.

Note: Physical fitness is a must for all the outward-bound activities conducted by SITC. A pair of binoculars is recommended for nature watching. Warm clothing is preferred. Minimum strength of 4 persons and maximum of 6 persons required for trekking. Tents, sleeping bags and other accessories while trekking and camping would be provided. Bright colors are not to be worn while in the forest.
