Beaches

Most of India’s finest beaches are in Kerala. For its entire 900km length, the Kerala coast is lined with sandy beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms. Each year greater number of tourists arrive here in search of the tranquil, palm fringed beaches. Moreover, the neatness of the beaches along with the friendliness of the natives are highly appreciated by the visitors.

Kovalam Beach  – The internationally renowned beach destination has been a favourite haunt of tourists since the 1930s, with three crescent shaped, palm fringed coves, it is much sought after for sunbathing, water sports, shopping, catamaran cruising, yoga, meditation and rejuvenative ayurvedic body toning massages. During the ten-day long festival the traditional ‘nalukettu’ (the quadrangular upper class house with a central open courtyard) and its premises become the venue of the fair, where the culture, arts and crafts like Mohiniyattam, Kalaripayattu etc. come alive
