One of the most underrated hillstations in South India, Wayanad is probably the most naturally gifted of them all. This pristine hillstation still retains its charm and remains largely unexploited by the tourism related developments. Wayanad is a hill district on the western ghats in the state of Kerala, closer to other famous hillstations of Ooty (Tamil Nadu) and Coorg (Karnataka).

The popularity of Wayanad has been rising steadily among regular tourists and adventure seekers alike. Honeymooners and families are attracted by the beauty of the hills, the fresh water lakes and breathtaking waterfalls.

Adventure seekers could trek some of the peaks in the region. Since Wayanad is bordered by the famous Bandipur and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, even wildlife enthusiasts also throng this hill station. Jeep Safaris are available in these sanctuaries, conducted by the respective forest departments.

With a moderate to cold climate throughout the year, this beautiful hillstation could be visited anytime of the year.
